CQA Webinar: Labelling and Coding

Date: 28 November 2018, 1pm AEST

Presenter: Andrea Currie, Coles Brand Manager for Policy & Technical Standards

For many manufacturers, incorrect labelling or coding is an inconvenience, at most a CP or QCP on their HACCP plan. However, undeclared allergens or inappropriate shelf life extension – resulting from labelling or coding errors – are a serious safety issue, which suggests consideration as a CCP.

Labelling and coding errors typically increase towards the end of the calendar year, when facilities are under pressure to produce seasonal increases or stock build before maintenance shut downs.

This webinar will highlight a range of recent issues, along with some practical suggestions to reduce the likelihood of errors. Areas covered will include:
• Impact of withdrawals and recalls at peak trading times
• Watch outs for effective date coding
• Management of labels – receipt, storage, issuing to production, return to storage
• Effective checks
• The role vision systems

As with all our webinars there will be an opportunity for Q & A at the end of the session.
